Allotments provide valuable green space within Leeds and are a great way of enjoying growing plants and vegetables.
Leeds has 96 allotment sites most of which have their own active groups or committees. The sites vary in size from those with just a few plots, to larger 100-plot sites. Allotment gardening is very popular and there is a huge demand for plots. This may mean that you will not be able to get an allotment plot immediately. If you think you would like your own plot contact the allotment office for more information.
Rental charges for 2011/12 (from October 2011)
Full plot (250 sq m) - £35
Half plot (125 sq m) - £17.50
City controlled plots with water supply are an extra £10.50 per year for each half plot and £16 for each full plot. Water charges at allotment sites run by committees may be different to these charges.
Discounts may be available for those in receipt of a state pension, unemployed, eligible disabled and full time students.
