If you are unhappy with our decision about your homelessness or your housing application you have the right to ask us to review it.
You can find out how to ask us for a review in the letter we sent telling you about our decision. You will need to tell us why you believe the decision was incorrect.
Grounds for a review of homelessness include:
- you are ineligible for assistance
- you are not homeless
- you do not have a priority need
- you are intentionally homeless
- you do not have a local connection to the Leeds area
Review of Leeds Homes priority
If you have applied for council housing you may be unhappy with the way we – or one of the ALMOs - have worked out your priority. If this has happened you may be able to ask us to review our decision. You have the right to ask for a review of your case if:
- We have refused to register your application on the Leeds Homes Register
- We have decided that you are unsuitable to be rehoused via the Leeds Homes Register
- You are unhappy with your priority on the Leeds Homes Register
The Appeals Panel
If we have assessed your priority and you do not agree with our decision, you can ask our review panel to take another look at your case. When we tell you about your priority we will include information about how you can request a review and contact details for the review panel.
The panel will look at your case, along with the case of anybody else who has asked for a review. The panel will be made up of senior officers who were not involved in the original decision about your application. You can provide extra information to help the panel to review your case along with the information on your original application form.
