Leeds Youth Offending Service (formerly Leeds Youth Offending Team) work with children, young people and their families to prevent and to challenge offending, encourage responsibility, to develop victim empathy and reduce the fear of crime within the community.

Who are we?
Leeds YOS is made up of representatives from the Police, Probation Service, Community services, Youth services, Health, Education, substance misuse services and housing providers and works with young people between the ages of 10 – 17 who are involved in offending behaviour.

Referrals to Leeds YOS can come in a number of ways, but primarily it is as a result of a young person being found guilty of committing an offence and becoming involved with the Youth Justice System.

How you can help:
The YOS seeks to recruit community volunteers to act as Panel members, mentors and appropriate adults. To find out more about getting involved, visit the link above.

The other pages in this section will tell you more about the service's work with young people.
