East Leeds neighbourhoods have very different characteristics and are home to many diverse and dynamic communities.
As well as the potential for an exciting range of cultural activity, energy for and commitment to supporting each other, these communities also have in common areas of the greatest disadvantages within Leeds and nationally. Despite concerted efforts some places are dropping even further down the tables, especially where employment, income and the general situation for older people are concerned.
Most people feel pretty good about their neighbourhoods, but there are some serious exceptions - opportunities for change and improvement are equally varied.
