Planning applications - finding out about new ones

A list of new planning applications is published every week on the web as a PDF attached to the Applications and decisions (Public Access) page - see the site links.

Our Public Access database page allows you to search for planning applications by property, street, postcode, parish, ward or by viewing large scale Ordnance Survey based maps. It enables you to monitor progress and make comments on current planning applications and to view historical planning applications.

The list is also available in libraries and at the Development enquiry centre. The lists are often featured in local newspapers. All new applications are open  public inspection and comment. A minimum of 21 days allowed for the public to comment on applications.

You can also find out about new planning applications from Site Notices, which are posted close to the site of an application. Neighbours may be notified by letter about a nearby application.
