Are you aged 13-19 (or up to age 25 if you have learning difficulties/disabilities). Do you have an idea that you want to make a reality? If so the Youth Opportunity and Youth Capital Fund could help you!
The Youth Opportunity (YOF) and Youth Capital Funds (YCF) are two pots of money given by Central Government to Leeds City Council, to give to young people in Leeds. The funds are managed and given out by a young peoples’ panel, to provide opportunities and resources for young people to spend on activities and projects that improve things to do, places to go or develop confidence, skills and knowledge.
You can apply from either or both funds for amounts from £100 to £100,000, The Youth opportunity fund gives groups of young people the chance to do different activities, learn new skills, visit places and much more. Not everyone gets everything they want but lots of young people have already been successful.
The Youth Capital Fund helps young people to improve the places where they meet and buy equipment. All you have to do is fill out a really simple form and find an adult who will support you.
Deadlines for applications 2008 to March 2009
