someone to talk to

The Breeze Youth Promise is being developed in response to the requirements of government to deliver an integrated ‘youth offer’.

This will meet the needs identified by the Government green paper ‘Youth Matters’, the Education Inspections Act 2006 and consultation with young people, aiming to give all young people in Leeds somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to.

The Breeze Youth Promise will ensure all young people have access and knowledge of services available to them.  All young people should have:

  • Somewhere to go – this means somewhere that young people feel safe, secure, welcome and where they will be respected. Places to chill out, get active, and be involved.  The Breeze Youth Promise is about making more places right for young people and helping them find them!
  • Something to do – including a wide range of fun, sporty, cultural, educational, creative and leisure activities, and Breeze events, as well as getting involved in decision making.  To improve access to opportunities in education, training and employment with more things to do and new things to try.  The Breeze Youth Promise is about helping young people be what they want to be.
  • Someone to talk to – on advice, guidance and information about the things that matter to them, such as careers, education, lifestyle choices, health issues and relationships. The Breeze Youth Promise is about helping young people talk to the right person at the right time in the right way.
