Library services

We have 53 libraries  throughout the city including a large Central library plus 5 mobile libraries.

Services include

• a wide range of books for loan, check the catalogue 
• dvds for hire in some libraries
• free internet access and word processing in all libraries
• online enquiry service 
• information and online resources,many accessible from home
• a children and young people's service including storytime sessions
• services for those unable to come to the library or who have a disability or for whom English is a second language;
• services for the local community e.g. meeting rooms, an organisations' database, community websites
• bookable computers with free internet access
• learning sessions, events and readers' group  meetings
• a Central library including lending library, children's library, local and family history service, business and patents service, art and music libraries
