Integrated Youth Support Service - Management Information Project background

The Project has been established to deliver an Integrated Youth Support Service for Leeds.

Following on from the Connexions Transition Project in April 2008 Leeds City Council now has responsibility for the provision of the former West Yorkshire Connexions service for the Leeds Area.

The Project is working with a number of internal Council Departments and external partners to deliver the service.

The management information and caseload management system utilised by the service is Insight/Outreach from Cognisoft. The Cognisoft system is utilised for the provision of monthly management information reports to the NCCIS website (National Client Caseload Information System) and is used by Youth Service workers and Connexions Personal Advisors in their day to day work to support Young People in Leeds.

The Insight aspect of the I / O system facilitates the collection of data arising from the interaction of Personal Advisors with young people, which is subsequently (monthly) uploaded to NCCIS.

The Outreach aspect of the system facilitates the collection of data arising from the interaction of Youth Workers with young people, via the various programmes of activity offered via Youth Work provision.

Currently the bulk of external providers utilising the I / O system do so in respect of the collection of Connexions related data (Insight).  In time this will be expanded to include external providers offering Youth Work related programmes (Outreach).
