Have you ever thought about volunteering to work with young people?
If you have, then maybe you’d like to volunteer with the Youth Service? There are always opportunities and these will probably be in your own community, if that suits you best. The Youth Service provides opportunities for young people to engage in a range of informal learning activities, some of which are accredited and encourages young people to be involved in the design and development of these activities. There are lots of different activities you could get involved in, including supporting a regular youth club where you can share any particular skills you might have or just help out generally, you could support groups when they go out on trips and visits, assist on a particular project e.g. outdoor activity, accredited programme such as the Duke of Edinburgh Award, work with other parents to establish a club for younger children in your community or maybe register as a volunteer minibus driver.
If you are interested in working with young people and would like to get involved in supporting a service in your community, you should contact one of the numbers below and arrange to go along and meet local staff, see what work is taking place in your area and whether you would like to register as a volunteer. We will provide you with valuable and rewarding experience supporting young people in reaching their potential.
Obviously all volunteers will need to agree to a CRB check to ensure that they are the right people to work with the Service. This is a simple form that allows us to check that you have no offences that would suggest you were not suitable to work with young people.
If you are interested, please contact us via the e-mail link or contact number above. If you wish to work in a particular area let us know that too and we will refer your enquiry as appropriate.
