West Yorkshire Fire Services

The West Yorkshire Fire Authority has responsibility for maintaining a fire and rescue service for Leeds, Bradford, Kirklees, Wakefield and Calderdale. The authority is made up of 22 councillors, appointed each year from all of the five West Yorkshire city and district councils.

The West Yorkshire Fire Service provides fire-fighting and emergency rescue services, as well as preventative enforcement for fire safety, and community education activities. Details of your local fire station, community activities and rescue services can be found on the West Yorkshire Fire Service website.

The council works in partnership with West Yorkshire Fire Authority on many community safety initiatives and peace and emergency planning projects.
