Notice to trade customers using East Leeds Household Waste Sorting Site

Due to demolition work taking place at East Leeds Household Waste Sorting Site in Seacroft, trade or commercial customers will not be able to use the site facilities for disposal of their waste or to use the public weigh bridge from 23 June 2008.

This will not affect members of the public at this time and they will be able to use the site for the recycling and disposal of household waste as usual.

This is the start of a £1.5 million redevelopment of the site to improve access, increase recycling facilities and renew signage, to make it easier to use for all of our customers.

The site will be closed to trade or commercial customers from 23rd June 2008 until Winter 2009.

Facilities for the disposal of trade or commercial waste have been relocated to:

Kirkstall Road Waste Transfer Station
Evanston Avenue
Kirkstall
Leeds
LS4 2HR
Tel: 0113 214 3639

Please use these alternative facilities to dispose of your trade or commercial waste. If you dispose of your waste illegally, you are fly tipping and could face a fine of up to £50,000 and up to five years imprisonment.

Leeds City Council have prosecuted over 200 individuals and business in the last two years for fly tipping and will prosecute anyone who illegally deposits waste.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this period.  If there are any specific questions, concerns or comments you would like to raise, please contact us on 0113 398 4760.
