Go On Leeds is a week long series of events encouraging those who have not yet discover the internet to get online with confidence.
Running from Monday 26 to Friday 30 September events will range from short, fun, free and informal drop-in taster sessions hosted in UK Online centres and libraries across the city to more structured, long-term learning programmes.
Go On Leeds is being driven and supported by volunteer 'local digital champions' inspiring, encouraging and supporting residents who have not yet sampled the internet.
Over 120,000 people in Leeds either do not use the internet or have never used it before. You could introduce them to the joy of communicating instantly worldwide through Facebook, Twitter, Skype and more
To become a local digital champion you do not need technical skills just enthusiasm and a willingness to help others. Race Online 2012 and UK Online Centres are even offering help and support to those who think they have what it takes to become digital champions.
Sign up as a digital champion at http://champions.go-on.co.uk/ or email caroline@raceonline2012.org.
