Third grant scheme finished

The roof was repaired at Cantors fish shop with the help of grant funding and more improvements are planned including a new art deco shopfront. See or comment on the planning application here.

Blue plaque unveiling 

Another Leeds Civic Trust blue plaque was unveiled in Chapeltown on 14 March 2012. The plaque for 21 Leopold Street commemerates the buildings previous incarnations as a synagogue and the first mosque in Leeds. 

Second grant scheme complete 

Work at 138 Chapeltown Road is now complete and the building is open as a day nursery.

Grant application for heritage shopfronts approved 

A grant application has been approved to install heritage shopfronts to 105 (Union105, East Street Arts) and 113-117 (Unity Housing Association) Chapeltown Road. Hopefully work will start in June 2012.

First grant scheme complete 

152 Chapeltown Road has been successfully refurbished using THI grant funding with many fine architectural details repaired and replaced.

Mrs Paul plaque unveiled 

Over 200 attended to see the blue plaque for Mrs Paul unveiled at Braken Edge School.
