Leeds City Council is currently involved in delivering substantial investments within the Chapeltown area to improve services to the local community and to bring about regeneration. A new Joint Service Centre is now open at the junction of Reginald Terrace and Chapeltown Road. This incorporates health services, a public library and other council facilities for local people.

An integrated transport and road safety scheme for Chapeltown Road began in December. In addition a Townscape Heritage Initiative  (THI), funded jointly by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) and Leeds City Council, is offering grants to help to repair and restore key commercial properties. Chapeltown is also an area where new affordable housing is being provided in partnership with local housing associations, in addition to improvements to the public housing stock.

Chapeltown Road development plan

The Chapeltown Road Development Plan (CRDP) was commissioned by Leeds City Council in January 2006 to produce a realistic physical regeneration plan for the Chapeltown Road corridor.
