Paint
The most common type of hazardous household waste is paint. If you have lots of paint to get rid of then you can give it to a local community group 'Seagulls' who distribute usable paint to community groups who can use it or sell it to the public at their store. Donate your paint at:

Batteries
Batteries should be recycled at Household waste sorting sites or at some council offices (such as libraries, One Stop Centres and neighbourhood housing offices). See the download for a full list.

Electrical equipment and light bulbs are now classed as hazardous waste. They should be taken to your nearest household waste sorting site. All other chemicals, dangerous and poisonous waste can be taken to the following household waste sorting sites.

Asbestos waste
