Yeadon Tarnfield Park is 16 miles North-West of Leeds city centre and is approximately 17 hectares in area.

Facilities

The park is open to the public 365 days a year. The park is extremely popular with people of all ages. Younger visitors can enjoy the playground and BMX track whilst other visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll around the tarn, a relaxing game of bowls or spend a Sunday afternoon enjoying one of the Summer Bands in the Park with entertainment from some of the region's leading brass bands.

For the more active visitor to the park, the tarn is used for various water sports activities and is the base for the Leeds Sailing and Activity Centre. If you would like to enjoy a day fishing in the tarn, you can get tickets from the Aireborough and District Angling Association, please contact them on telephone number 01532 784 445.

The park is also an excellent location to get great views of the planes taking off and landing at Leeds and Bradford Airport.

Most footpaths in the park are suitable for the majority of manual and electric wheelchair users.

Location

By car – from Leeds city centre take the A58 signposted for Ilkley and the Airport and continue forward onto the A65 until you reach Yeadon. Turn right onto Harrogate Road – B6152 and turn left onto High Street, the main car park entrance is on your right hand side (the car parks are free).

By train – the nearest train station to the park is Guiseley station which is approximately 2 miles away. There is a train to Guiseley leaving Leeds City Station every 30 minutes during the day. For further information please visit the website www.nationalrail.co.uk
